During that time, the company collected survey information through snail mail and telephone. My Survey is operated by Lightspeed Research. Lightspeed is the technology that the company uses for digital data collection.

MySurvey has an A+ rating in Better Business Bureau. In fact, they ranked 17 in theworkathomewoman.com’s list of  20 Work At Home Companies with an A+ Rating on the BBB Website.

Now you may be thinking that MySurvey is all sunshine and daisies. Of course, it is not. However, compared to other paid survey companies, MySurvey fares better. There are just several loopholes and cringe-worthy information about the company.

One of those things that people consider before they start joining MySurvey is the payment processing time. There have been several reports that it takes over a month for the fund to be transferred over to PayPal. Now that’s a long time to wait for $10. $10 is the minimum amount to be reached to initiate a transfer.

What are Important Facts to Know about My Survey?

First thing is first.  My Survey is a FREE survey platform. There is no cost to be a member. It is, however, not available for everybody. It only caters to individuals residing in 20 countries. And there is also an age requirement. An individual has to be 14 years old and above in order to be a member.

The surveys that members can take vary from mobile surveys to webcam surveys to products reviews. Length for every survey varies. It can be as short as 5 minutes.

The company operates through a point system. Most surveys are at 200 points. Once a member reaches 1,1oo points which is equals to $10, they can already have it converted to whatever payment option they choose. These points expire, though, after two years.

As we said earlier, My Survey is not all sunshine and daisies. Though, the company wants everyone to believe that it is so. Unfortunately, it’s not. And before you invest time and hope, it is best that you know first what people experienced. They say that we learn from experience. It does not necessarily mean that it has to be our experience. That is exactly what we are going to do here- learn from people’s misfortune and experiences.

1. Complaint #1: Unable to Log-in

This complaint is very common and there is a reason for this. In order for a member be able to log-in hassle- free, he has to constantly log-in to his account. That is actually one of the terms of MySurvey. So if you are looking into just doing the surveys once a month, then you may want to think about it.

2. Complaint #2: Confusing surveys

Aren’t they all? Just kidding. Well. There have been reports that upon completing the survey, a prompt comes up that the survey is already full. Uh-huh. This is after you have taken time answering the questions, only to be told that it is already unavailable. Then lo and behold! Once you go back to your home page, the point for that survey that you have taken which was told to be “full” has been credited. If that is not confusing, I don’t know what is.

Well. You can turn out lucky (if you believe in luck) if you still got the point for the survey. Others actually did not get any. To make things worse, it was a survey asking for their credit card information.

3. Complaint #3: Bounced checks

Now, this is serious. There have been several complaints on this matter. It seems to follow a process. Members will receive a check and they will be advised to take surveys in places like Western Union and Macy’s and will be asked after to wire money back to certain individuals that represent the company. After a few days, they get a notification that the check bounced.

This is, obviously, why people scream a MySurvey scam cry.

4. Complaint #4: No word from them anymore

One of the ways of informing its’ members of a survey they qualified is through email. Members receive an email update on available surveys and sometimes contest. A handful of people have complained that they have not gotten any email after being an active member of close to year.

Well. It seems to me that they are cutting down members, especially those who have already received quite an amount from them.

Aside from that, there are also complaints saying that they just don’t respond to emails.

5. Complaint #5: Customer service? What customer service?

There you go. When there are questions, concerns, and issues that need to be addressed by MySurvey, they just seem to space out and most members have challenges in getting in touch with someone who can assist them. It’s either they do not know how to go about raising their concerns or they have never gotten any update on the concerns that they have raised.

Take note that these complaints are collated all over the internet and were just ranked according to common concerns raised by members. As to the legitimacy of concerns, we do not guarantee any. Then again if multiple people have already complained about the same issue, then this will make you consider the validity of the complaint.

Pros and Cons

As you can see by now, My Survey is not without blemish. It has. And it has a lot. But it’s not all bad either. There is just something on every side. All you have to do is decide which is non-negotiable for you and which are the ones that you are willing accept and live.

• Unlike other survey panels that serve as middle men, MySurvey’s surveys are mostly theirs.
• The sign-up process is fast and easy. In less than 5 minutes, an interested individual can already set her account up.
• Since the surveys are designed by them, there are lesser redundancies in the questions. The questions are simpler and shorter.
• The company has been in the industry since 2001. This means that they have already gained the experience and edge in the industry.

Cons

• You have to regularly log-in to the account to keep it active. Now this wouldn’t work for everyone.
• The numerous complaints. There are just so many complaints about the company and the process. From simple issues like not getting email updates to more complex and sensitive issues of payouts and of bounced checks.

The decision is up to you make. Weigh the pros and the cons. Do the benefits outweigh the cons?

Final Take

Is MySurvey legit? The company is legit. When we say that they are legit, this means that the company has been set to really do what they set out to do.

What about the complaints and allegations of scam? Now these reports were later on found out to be done by individuals who are not associated to MySurvey but only pretended that they are. This can be true, but it still does not disqualify the fact that you may be scammed.

So what is our take on this? Unlike other survey panels, My Survey is more credible. There are people who make money out of joining this company. Still we say that this shouldn’t qualify as your main source of income. This can be one of your income sources but never the main. Also be cautious of surveys that ask for your credit card information. We are not saying that the company is going to start making purchases using your card. We say that it is better safe than sorry.

And also, be cautious of wiring money to people. You took the survey. It was your own effort, so it doesn’t make any sense why you will need to transfer funds back to the company.

Do what you can. Earn. But always with caution.
